For
more than 17 years, Keith has been creating works of art. He and his wife started
in a small basement of their first home. He acquired the tools and read the
only two books he could find
on the subject of glass blowing. He didn’t know the first technique about
working the molten glass. After many tries, he created his first glass snowman.
It wasn’t perfect and needed lots of work. Keith used every spare moment
he could to practice at this new fascination. Many months later, he contracted
with a company in the local mall to set up a table and sell items at the store
on Saturday’s. The kids were the first ones drawn to the site of a glowing
flame. Then the parents came to watch and then magic began to happen.
It soon became apparent that Keith’s
skills were just starting to grow. For many months thereafter, Keith sold and
gave away many of his sculptures. He also learned how to make thousands of different
items. Keith began to broaden his craft and found he could recreate items from
rough sketches or pictures. Since then, he has developed his own unique styles
for lace work (a technique for stitching glass together), coloring glass, and
structure design.
Over the years, Keith has had many hobbies. One of these hobbies has produced
some exquisite pieces. Keith purchased a wood lathe and began turning wooden
bowls, pens, etc. These items add a special touch to a home or office.
He has built items for television personalities, news broadcasters, large businesses,
and hundreds of weddings. His favorite creations are the ones that offer a good
challenge and the items made just for that special gift.
We at Sculpting in Motion invite you and your friends to visit us often and
see the new designs we are creating. Thank you.
